Today I was transcribing an interview with another freelance writer for my blog, for colored gurls. One of the questions was “Finish this sentence: This career is for you if __” Her response (well, one of them): If you can’t see yourself doing anything else.

I don’t know why, but that line has been in my head all night. I started thinking about my own situation. I feel like no matter how “poor” I am, no matter how tired I get, no matter how long I work, there’s nothing in the world I’d rather do than what I’m doing right now. Of course, I’d love to be making more money at it, but I truly can’t imagine what life would be like if I couldn’t/didn’t write or blog, and if I couldn’t motivate other people {esp. women}.

So, if you’re trying to figure out what your passion is or what your purpose is, my first suggestion? Find that one thing you absolutely must do.
